Maths - Measurement

WALT - find the area and perimeter of common shapes.
ide length of a shape.
Perimeter - The perimeter is the outside length of a shape. You find the perimeter of a shape by adding the lengths around the shape.

Area - The is how much you can fit into a shape. You find the area by multiplying the length x width.

Example - If you had a rectangle that was 4cm by 2cm.
The perimeter would be 12cm - P = 4 + 4 + 2 + 2 = 12
The area would be 8cm squared - A = 4 X 2 = 8

Area- the area how much you can fit into a shape.
Example- if you had a rectangle that was 4 by 4 and 2 by 2 the perimeter would be 12 and the area would 8
